| Pine Grove Township is a second class township governed by a Board of Supervisors which is elected at large by the qualified voters of the Township. The Board of Supervisors, elected for terms of six years each, serves both legislative and executive functions. The board of supervisors increased in January of 2002 from three to five members by vote of the Township residents. In 2007, the electors of the township voted to return to a three member Board of Supervisors. The election to vote three members to the board will take place in the 2009 election. Pine Grove Township was settled in 1750. The 2000 census population was 3,930 (increasing by 231 from the 1990 census). Day to day operations of the Township are carried out by full-time employees. |
